Durability

30 Years

Under normal service conditions, the system will have a life in excess of 30 years, provided it is designed, installed

When fully protected, under normal service conditions, the system will have a life at least equivalent to the roof in which it is incorporated, provided it is designed, installed and maintained in accordance with this Certificate and the Certificate holders instructions.

In situations where maintenance or repair of any of the components in the roof structure are necessary (eg
protection layer or insulation), the durability of the system may be reduced. In these circumstances, the Certificate
holder must be consulted, but such advice is outside the scope of this Certificate.

An estimation cannot be given for the life of green roof specifications owing to the nature of use; however, under
normal circumstances, it will be significantly greater than for exposed waterproof coverings.

Installation Requirements

Installation of the system must be carried out only by specialist roofing contractors trained and approved by the Certificate holder.

Fire Safety

When tested to DD CEN/TS 1187 : 2012, Test 4, the following flat roof systems achieved a classification under BS EN 13501-5 : 2016 of BROOF(t4):

  • a primed 18 mm orientated strand board, Self-adhesive solvent-based membrane primer applied at a rate of 0.15m per m2, first coat – Pro-BW LO Resin at 1.5 m2, Reinforcement – Pro-Force 450, Second coat – Pro-BW LO Resin at 0.50 m2
