Elastex Solo Systems
Manufacturer: Polyroof Products Limited
Materials: Polyurethane
The Elastex SoLo System is a low odour, cold liquid applied polyurethane membrane, reinforced with an embedded glassfibre mating.
The system is built up by applying the following components on site:
- Elastex SoLo Binder Sealer – a two component stabiliser and primer for use on concrete prior to the application of the Elastex SoLo System
- Elastex SoLo – a one-component liquid applied polyurethane coating which cures to form an elastomeric waterproofing
- Elastex SoLo Accelerator – an acid-based catalyst for accelerating the cure of Elastex SoLo
- Polymat 100 Glassfibre matting – a chopped strand glass mat with a nominal weight per unit area of g.m², for setting into the first coat of Elastex SoLo
Number: 18/5605
Issue date: 25/04/2022
Approved for use on
Flat Roofs Pitched Roofs
For use as a waterproofing layer on flat or pitched roofs, for new work, or for repairing or maintaining the waterproof layer of existing, structurally sound, roofs with limited access.
Substrate
Concrete Mastic Asphalt Reinforced Bituminous Membranes
The system can be used on the following substrates:
- concrete(1)
- mastic asphalt (roofing grade)(1)(2)
- reinforced bituminous membranes(1)(2)
(1) Elastaseal Z Binder Sealer.
(2) Owing to the variable nature of these materials, acceptable adhesion should be confirmed by test
Durability
25 Years
Under normal Service Conditions, the system will have a service life of up to 25 years.
Installation Requirements
The system should be installed by installers who have been trained and approved by the certificate holder. Details of these are available form the certificate holder.
Fire Safety
In the opinion of the BBA, the system, when applied to a substructure comprising a 12mm calcium silicate board, foil faced carrier membrane, a coat of Elastex Solo Binder Sealer applied at a rate of 0.1 litres per M2, a coat of Elastex Solo applied at a rate of 1 litre per m2 reinforced with 100 g.m2 of Polymat 100 Glassfibre matting and 0.5 litres per m2 of top coat can be classified (Exova Warringtonfire – BS 476-3 : 2004 – external fire exposure test, document reference 360762) as Broof (t4)
The designation of other specifications, eg when used on combustible substrates, should be confirmed by: England and Wales — test or assessment in accordance with Approved Document B, Appendix A, Clause 1 Scotland — test to conform to Mandatory Standard 2.8, clause 2.8.1(1)(2) (1) Technical Handbook (Domestic). (2) Technical Handbook (Non-Domestic). Northern Ireland — test or assessment by a UKAS-accredited laboratory, or an independent consultant with appropriate experience.
