Polyshield 15 Roof Waterproofing System

Approved for use on

For use as a liquid-applied waterproofing layer on limited access flat and pitched roofs, and protected zero fall cold roofs.

Substrate

Concrete Mastic Asphalt Reinforced Bituminous Membranes Single Ply Membranes - PVC Steel Timber 

The system is suitable for use on substrates of:

• concrete
• mastic asphalt
• bituminous roofing felt
• steel
• timber
• PVC plastisol coated metal
• PVC single-ply waterproofing membrane.

Durability

15 Years 

Under normal conditions, the Polyshield 15 Roof Waterproofing system will achieve a life expectancy of at least 15 years.

Installation Requirements

Installation of the system must be carried out in accordance with the relevant clauses of BS 8000-0 : 2014, BS 8000-4 : 1989, Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association (LRWA) Note 7 – Specifier Guidance for Flat Roof Falls, the Certificate holder’s instructions and this Certificate, and only by specialist roofing contractors trained and approved by the Certificate holder in accordance with their installation instructions.

Fire Safety

When tested to CEN/TS 1187 : 2012, Test 4, and classified to BS EN 13501-5 : 2016, the constructions given in Table 2 of the BBA Certificate achieved the results noted for slopes below 10°.

When tested to BS 476-3 : 2004 in the flat position, the construction given in Table 3 of the BBA Certificate achieved a rating of EXT.F.AC(1) for a roof pitch of between 0° and 10°.

On the basis of data assessed, the constructions given in Table 2 of the BBA Certificate achieving BROOF(t4) will be unrestricted by the
documents supporting the national Building Regulations with respect to proximity to a relevant boundary. The construction given achieving DROOF(t4) will be restricted by the documents supporting the national Building Regulations
with respect to proximity to a relevant boundary. Restrictions may apply at junctions with compartment walls.

In Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the construction given in Table 3 of the BBA Certificate, is unrestricted with respect to proximity to a relevant boundary, by the documents supporting the national Building Regulations.

In England, the test method BS 476-3 is not accepted as evidence of regulatory compliance and designers must seek guidance on the proposed use of the product from the relevant Building Control Body.

When used in conjunction with one of the organic coverings listed in the Annex of Commission Decision
2000/553/EC, the system will be similarly unrestricted.

The classification and permissible areas of use of other specifications must be confirmed by reference to the requirements of the documents supporting the national Building Regulations.
