The system can be used on the following substrates:

  • concrete(1)
  • mastic asphalt (roofing grade)(1)(2)
  • reinforced bituminous membranes(1)(2)

(1) Elastaseal Z Binder Sealer.
(2) Owing to the variable nature of these materials, acceptable adhesion should be confirmed by test

Fire Safety

In the opinion of the BBA, the system, when applied to a substructure comprising a 12mm calcium silicate board, foil faced carrier membrane, a coat of Elastex Solo Binder Sealer applied at a rate of 0.1 litres per M2, a coat of Elastex Solo applied at a rate of 1 litre per m2 reinforced with 100 g.m2 of Polymat 100 Glassfibre matting and 0.5 litres per m2 of top coat can be classified (Exova Warringtonfire – BS 476-3 : 2004 – external fire exposure test, document reference 360762) as Broof (t4)

The designation of other specifications, eg when used on combustible substrates, should be confirmed by: England and Wales — test or assessment in accordance with Approved Document B, Appendix A, Clause 1 Scotland — test to conform to Mandatory Standard 2.8, clause 2.8.1(1)(2) (1) Technical Handbook (Domestic).
