The Elastoflex Solvent-Free Liquid Roof Waterproofing System is a cold liquid-applied polyurethane coating reinforced with an embedded polyester fleece to provide a waterproofing membrane with a minimum dry film thickness of 2 mm.

The system components are:

• Elastoflex Solvent-Free Coating — a two-component, solvent-free liquid-applied resin that cures to form a flexible waterproofing membrane
• Elastoflex Reinforcing Mat 15 Polyester Fleece reinforcement — a polyester fleece for embedding into the Elastoflex Solvent-Free Coating resin to act as reinforcement. The fleece has nominal characteristics of:

For use as a waterproofing layer on flat or pitched roofs, including green roofs, with limited access, and for waterproofing balconies, terraces and podiums.

When treated with the appropriate primer in accordance with the Certificate holder’s instructions, the Elastoflex Solvent-Free Liquid Roof Waterproofing System is suitable for use on substrates of:
• acrylic glazing
• aluminium
• bituminous felts including polymer-modified hot- and cold-applied bitumens and bitumen emulsions
• concrete and concrete screeds cured sufficiently to achieve the required bond strength
• copper
• fibre-reinforced cement sheeting
• glass
• lead
• lightweight concrete
• polyisocyanurate insulation board (PIR)(1)
• stainless steel V2A
• steel to CP 143-10 : 1973
• tiles (glazed and unglazed)
• timber, including appropriate grade plywood (minimum EN 636-2 : 1997) and oriented strand board (OSB3)
(EN 300 : 2006)
• zinc.

(1) The Certificate holder should be consulted for specific advice on board facing compatibility.

The substrate list represents a guide to the user and adhesion should be confirmed by test if necessary.

When application to other substrates is being considered, the advice of the Certificate holder should be sought


25 Years 

The Elastoflex Solvent-Free Liquid Roof Waterproofing System has been in use in Germany since 1998 and early installations continue to perform satisfactorily. Accelerated weathering tests confirm that satisfactory retention of physical properties is achieved and indicate that, with adequate maintenance and repair, the system should have an expected service life of at least 25 years.

Installation Requirements

Installation of the system must only be carried out by installers trained and approved by the Certificate holder.

Least compressible (eg concrete)

Fire Safety

When tested, a system comprising 12 mm thick Superlux board covered with the system will be unrestricted.

The designation of other specifications should be confirmed by: England and Wales — test or assessment in accordance with Approved Document B (Volumes 1 and 2), Appendix A, clause A1. Scotland — test to conform to Mandatory Standard 2.8, clause 2.8.1. Northern Ireland — test or assessment by a UKAS accredited laboratory, or an independent consultant with appropriate experience.
